Funding

Arapahoe County provides grants to various organizations that represent and benefit the citizens of Arapahoe County. Some of the grants are federally funded, with Arapahoe County serving as an intermediary or “pass-through” agency.

Available Grants

  • Aid to Agencies grants are provided to human services, health and wellness and crisis intervention organizations serving the county’s at-risk and under-served population.
  • HOME Investment Partnership Act Funds are entitlement monies through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that help strengthen the ability of local governments and non-profits to provide affordable housing in Arapahoe County.
  • Community Development Block Grants are entitlement monies through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that are used to build or improve community facilities and provide services to help low to moderate income individuals and areas of the county
  • Community Service Block Grants are funds received through the Colorado Department of Local Affairs that help to alleviate the causes and conditions of poverty in communities.
  • Open Space Grants are funded with 12 percent of revenues from the Open Space Sales and Use Tax, and are offered to projects involving open space acquisitions, trail connections, park development and planning projects throughout Arapahoe County
  • Science and Cultural Facilities District Tier III Funding is funded with part of revenues from the SCFD sales and use tax, and is offered to eligible non-profit and/or governmental entities that represent a good mix of cultural and scientific offerings to the Arapahoe County community.
